June 2025 Newsletter Summary

REBECCA hosted a key workforce development session in Bowling Green on July 2, 2025, as part of the Next Gen Hub initiative. The discussion focused on aligning training with industry needs, including innovative models like the fractional workforce.

Kentucky Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel participated, providing strategic direction. A site visit to the future Next Gen Manufacturing Hub reinforced regional potential in advanced manufacturing and skilling.

REBECCA is preparing for a potential NSF site visit and has officially begun developing its EDA Tech Hub Implementation Proposal.

Additionally, Dr. Sundar Atre, REBECCA Co-RIO, received a national honor from the Metal Powder Industries Federation for his contributions to powder metallurgy and advanced manufacturing.

The consortium remains active with 75+ members, continuing efforts toward innovation, workforce transformation, and regional impact.

May 2025 Newsletter Summary

REBECCA TechHub submitted its full proposal to the National Science Foundation’s Regional Innovation Engines Program on April 15, 2025. The team is now preparing the EDA Tech Hub Implementation Proposal to further regional innovation efforts.

Recent engagements across Kentucky and Southern Indiana have focused on biomass, carbon utilization, and manufacturing priorities. REBECCA’s consortium has expanded to over 75 members, and its Board of Directors has been formally introduced.

An upcoming regional workshop on innovation and workforce development will be held in Louisville from August 20–22, 2025.
